Swann School of Dance

Welcome to Swann School of Dance! This is a Ballroom and Latin dance school based in Dovercourt in Essex. We love to teach people of all ages, races and genders whether it is dancing socially or dancing competitively. We are a dance family here so enjoy your dancing experiences in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our teacher Emilia Swann started this beautiful sport at age 6 doing ISTD competitions. She did ISTD competitions for 5 years as a juvenile and in her final year at 11 years of age, she took home two first places in the Gold category Blackpool ISTD Grand Final.

She then moved on and started competing on the open circuit that year with her boy partner and her open career began. Now with 14 years of competitive Ballroom and Latin experience she has many achievements including Junior UK Closed Vice Champion, Welsh Champion, Suffolk Champion, Top 24 in the European Championships and Top 24 in the International Championships.

She has been training with the best coaches in the country and is still training in her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). She started teaching dancing at 16 and realised that teaching was another side to dancing she loved and enjoyed. Her aim is to pass on her knowledge and love for Ballroom dancing to the next generation.
